The making of a will by a non-Muslim in Malaysia is governed by the Wills Act 1959. Where a person dies without a valid will, the estate is divided in the fixed shares prescribed by the Distribution Act 1958, and the authority to deal with the estate comes from a grant issued by the High Court under the Probate and Administration Act 1959.
