Lalith is a founding partner of the Firm. He specialises in environmental, planning, and administrative law litigation, as well as conveyancing, probate, and property transactions. Driven by a steadfast commitment to legal reform and social and environmental justice, his practice focuses on complex public interest disputes and high-stakes administrative challenges before civil courts and specialist tribunals.
His extensive litigation experience includes judicial review proceedings challenging contentious planning approvals, such as those for a radioactive waste disposal facility and a major coastal reclamation project. Additionally, Lalith also has acted for activists facing Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPP) and has represented large complainant groups in multifaceted property disputes.
Beyond the courtroom, Lalith serves as a Legal Advisor to some of Malaysia’s most prominent and long-standing civil society organisations. His policy work involves representing stakeholders in consultations with regulatory bodies, testifying before Parliamentary Select Committees, and contributing to the mandate of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Right to a Healthy Environment. He also has conducted workshops dedicated to advancing and protecting the rights of indigenous peoples.
